The Ziegeleipark Area in Horw is in constant change. The suburban context is characterized by an anonymous and bulky atmosphere, with infrastructural elements and a lot of traffic. A strong urban gesture in the form of a high and a deep building mark the beginning of the complex. The urban setting and the identity of the project is developed out of the large scale functional and industrial buildings of the surrounding area. The high building is defined by different pergola typologies, and hosts student apartments. The house with the court has apartment types of different depth which are connected by bridges. In that manner, the project seeks living forms that appreciate proximity, density and close neighbourhood as qualitites, and which are an antithesis to the anonymous housing forms of the contemporary swiss suburbs.
