In a suburban, faceless context, a large scale Shed- Hall for car production from 1957 appears as a promising and uniqe condition with a lot of identity. The proposal keeps the existing built substance completely. The hall is being adapted, transformed, re-used. It offers unexpected spatial possibilities for living, working and everything in between. Instead of typical unprogrammed and diffuse outside spaces in this kind of context, the hall offers unsealed, green alleys as Mid-Doors. Those In-between- spaces allow, dependent on the seasons, the reduction of heating energy up to 30%. They are similar to a market hall and enable the spatial expericence of the exisiting large scale structure. On perimeter borders, the hall is being extended with three new wooden volumes for housing, ateliers and workshops. The proposal tries a consequent conceptual interplay of spatial and climate- friendly decisions, in order to establish a sustainable, surprising and dense piece of city.
